Where these numbers come from
Every figure here is already published
The per-watt range is the one the site publishes for judging a quote: 3.00 to4.50 dollars per watt. The federal credit is the published figure of up to 30% of installation costs. The panel life is the published 25 to 30 years, and the value increase is the published average of 4%.
These are the benchmarks the site publishes for judging a quote, not a price list. A quote well below this range usually means lower-grade equipment or less experienced labour; a quote well above it should come with a clear explanation of what justifies the premium.
Everything else - your roof, your rate, your incentives - is left out on purpose. If you want the real figure, that is what the consultation is for.
